Launch of the publication "A Critical Overview of the Organization and Implementation of Kosovo’s Foreign Policy"

On 1st of August, Prishtina Institute for Political Studies published the report "A Critical Overview of the Organization and Implementation of Kosovo’s Foreign Policy". The report particularly discusses the functioning of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while at a larger scale it focuses on Kosovo’s foreign policy as a whole.

On 3rd of July Prishtina Institute for Political Studies organized the discussion Kosovo’s approach towards five EU non-recognizers. The panel of the discussion consisted of: Enver HOXHAJ (Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo), Ilir DEDA (Member of Parliament), Gëzim VISOKA (Lecturer at Dublin University).

This discussion gathered MPs, representatives of institutions, representatives from academia, embassies, civil society etc.

During 22-24th of June, School of Politics held the third seminar ''Foreign Policy and National Security''. The lecturers of this seminar originated from political, diplomatic and academic backgrounds: Robert Muharremi, Blerim Reka, Ardian Hackaj (Cooperation and Development Institute), Burim Ramadani (Deputyminister at MKSF) and Florian Qehaja (Executive Director at Kosovar Centre for Security Studies).

Study trip to Berlin with MPs on the best practices regarding energy efficiency

Prishtina Institute for Political Studies, as an implementing partner, together with Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH; as part of the project "Regional cooperation and competence development of parliamentarians in South East Europe on the topic of energy efficiency and climate protection" held a study trip to Berlin, Germany (6-9 June) with the purpose of introducing the MPs of six Western Balkan countries with the best parliamentary practices within the German Parliament in advocating for the implementation and improvement of energy efficiency, climate protection and urban mobility policy.

On July 7, the Pristina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS) published the policy analysis "Rationalization of Independent Agencies and Regulators in Kosovo". The analysis drafted after a period of several months of research provides an overview of the current situation of public administration reform, namely the implementation of the rationalization of independent, executive and regulatory agencies.

OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOOL FOR POLITICAL STUDIES 2021

Prishtina School for Political Studies has opened the call for application for the admission of candidates for the nineteenth generation (19).

School for Political Studies is one of the first non-formal political education programs in Kosovo and the oldest program that is still active. School for Political Studies has been implemented by the Prishtina Institute for Political Studies since 2003 through the support of the Council of Europe.

The aim of the program is to promote a new political culture for young leaders in line with the three key principles of the Council of Europe: democracy, rule of law and human rights. Throughout a year 30 participants coming from political parties, media, civil society, public administration etc. have the opportunity to attend modules with lectures from eminent local and international speakers. The program is currently implemented in 22 different countries around the world and graduates are certified by the Council of Europe and the Secretary General of this organization.
