The second seminar of the School for Political Studies was held from July 21-23 and July 28-30. Over the course of six days the participants participated in lectures by public policy experts in the areas of political ideology and its effects on public policy.
Mr. Neritan Sejamini opened the seminar by discussing with the participants about political ideologies and how these translate into public policies, the main ideas regarding the state vs. market relations, according to left and right political ideas.
On the second day of the seminar, Mr. Edison Jakurti examined some of the left's views on economics, suggesting a critical and heterodox approach to economic analysis and policy-making.
The third lecture was covered by Mr. Dastid Pallaska, who spoke about the rule of law in promoting a free market economy and competition, especially in societies like Kosovo, which have gone through heavy transition of the political system.
The fourth lecture was held with Mr. Artan Mustafa, where we discussed the development of social policies in Kosovo from socialism to liberalism, especially from a post-war transformations viewpoibnt.
Furthermore, the fifth lecture was held by Mr. Adri Nurellari, who covered the emergence of differences between left-wing and right-wing parties, as well as right-wing alternatives in Kosovo as a path to economic development.
The seminar was concluded with a lecture by Mr. Seb Bytyçi who introduced the key elements of the development state model.
