Seminar on Political Education young people from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities
We have concluded a very successful Seminar on Political Education together with 20 participants, young people from the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, and 5 lecturers on political and legal sciences.

The seminar was piloted as a new format for young people from non-majority communities inspired by the School of Political Studies program. We had the pleasure to witness the vivacious energy of these young people to advocate for their communities' advancement, and the capacity of such a program to serve as a space for cooperation in defining joint interests and demands.

The participants were a diverse and highly engaged group, 14 of whom were active in various civil society organizations working on advocacy - education - lobbying, 5 were part of political parties, 4 worked in local institutions, and 2 of them were also active in the field of arts and culture.

On the first day we had the honor to hear from Prof. Gjylieta Mushkolaj on the legal framework for the rights and freedoms of communities, as well as the challenges of using power-sharing mechanisms to advance the position of these communities.

On the second day, the functions of the state, political participation and representation, political parties and the electoral process were discussed with Prof. Fisnik Korenica, Prof. Ermal Hasimja and Mr. Ismet Kryeziu.

On the last day the participants talked to Dr. Ramadan Ilazi on the conceptions surrounding state and nation, as well as discussed among themselves what key obstacles Kosovo is facing.

This program was implemented within ROMACTED II, through the support of the Council of Europe Office in Prishtina.
