Seminar II of the School of Politics on Transitional Justice and its Mechanisms

In the 2024 edition of the School of Politics, PIPS introduced a seminar focusing on dealing with the past and transitional justice.

This weekend (10-12 May), PIPS held the second seminar of the School of Politics, which was also the inaugural seminar on Transitional Justice. The seminar aimed to shape future leaders to be open-minded and inclusive, engage with policy matters and understand the importance of addressing past conflicts. Participants learned about truth commissions, criminal prosecutions, reparations, and institutional reforms as tools to prevent the recurrence of past injustices. The seminar explored the complexities of addressing historical injustices and balancing accountability with reconciliation.

The activity was made possible with the assistance of the regional project “EU Support for Confidence Building in the Western Balkans”, which is financed by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

U izdanju Škole politike za 2024. godinu, PIPS je uveo seminar koji se fokusira isključivo na suočavanje s prošlošću i tranzicionu pravdu.

Ovog vikenda (10-12. maj) PIPS je održao drugi seminar Škole politike, koji je ujedno bio i inauguracioni seminar o tranzicionoj pravdi. Seminar je imao za cilj da oblikuje buduće lidere da budu otvoreni i inkluzivni, da se bave političkim pitanjima i razumeju važnost rešavanja prošlih sukoba. Učesnici su naučili o komisijama za istinu, krivičnim gonjenjima, reparacijama i institucionalnim reformama kao alatima za sprečavanje ponavljanja prošlih nepravdi. Seminar je istraživao složenost rješavanja istorijskih nepravdi i balansiranja između odgovornosti i pomirenja.

Aktivnost je omogućena uz pomoć regionalnog projekta „Podrška EU za izgradnju poverenja na Zapadnom Balkanu“, koji finansira Evropska unija (EU), a sprovodi Program Ujedinjenih nacija za razvoj (UNDP).

School of Politics (Generation 22) has officially kicked off with the first seminar this weekend!

From March 22nd to March 24th, the next generation of potential future leaders embarked on an energetic journey during our first seminar. It was a weekend filled with insightful discussions, valuable lessons, and memorable moments that truly summarized the essence of political education and community building.

Throughout the seminar, the energy was evident, fueled by lively discussions, positive vibes, and meaningful networking opportunities. We are hugely grateful to all our speakers, moderators, and participants for contributing to the success of this seminar.

MONITORING REPORT: ENERGY STRATEGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO 2022-2031 (Period 2023)

The Prishtina Institute for Political Studies has published the Monitoring Report: Energy Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo 2022-2031, for the period 2023. The report was made within the project 'Increasing public accountability in the process of European integration', in cooperation with the FOL Movement, supported by the MATRA program, which is financed by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kosovo. The monitored measures are the measures taken from the Kosovo Energy Strategy for the period 2022 and 2023. The report aims to evaluate achievements and identify challenges during the years 2022 and 2023 of the implementation of the strategy.

Open Call and Terms of Reference for a Videographer/Video Editor

PIPS seeks a skilled videographer/video editor for our School of Politics Program. The role will involve producing high-quality videos of seminars and interviews. These videos will be shared on our website, social media, and public events.

This call is made possible by the project that PIPS is implementing (Building Bridges of Accountability: The Path to Reconciliation) supported by the EU regional funded project “EU Support to Confidence Building in the Western Balkans", and implemented by UNDP.

Institutional Structure and Other Preconditions for Kosovo's accession in the EU

The Prishtina Institute for Political Studies publishes the next report, in line with the MATRA project from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as co-implementer of the project with the FOL Movement.

This report discusses Kosovo's Institutional Preparedness for joining the European Union (EU), following the EU's new enlargement methodology. It provides context on Kosovo's relations with the EU, highlights achievements in implementing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), and explores the requirements for accession negotiations under the new methodology. The analysis outlines the potential impact of progress in thematic areas during negotiations, obligations for Kosovo, positive outcomes, and potential negative consequences.

Dokumenti i përgatitur nga grupi i Shkollës Politike (Gjenerata e 21-të) nënvizon një sfidë të vazhdueshme brenda sistemit gjyqësor dhe prokurorial të Kosovës, duke theksuar në mënyrë specifike mangësitë që mund ti ketë procesi i vlerësimit të performancës për gjyqtarët dhe prokurorët.

Për të adresuar këto çështje, dokumenti përshkruan objektivat për të përmirësuar cilësinë e punës midis gjyqtarëve dhe prokurorëve, duke promovuar transparencën, llogaridhënien dhe profesionalizmin.
