This report describes the key points of Kosovo's foreign policy in 2022.
The report aims to present the most significant achievements and obstacles faced by Kosovo's institutions and leadership in advancing the country's strategic interests and international relations.
Throughout 2022, there was an increase in Kosovo's bilateral interactions with other countries, while the dialogue with Serbia for the normalization of relations had a significant impact on Kosovo's external exchanges. In the realm of diplomacy, Kosovo has made efforts to deepen its relations with regional countries, EU and NATO members, as well as a few countries from the Near and Middle East.
Challenges have arisen particularly in the dialogue with Serbia. Kosovo has maintained positive relations with neighboring and other countries, advancing national and international efforts through diplomatic visits. However, the conflicts and tensions of 2022 have impeded Kosovo's ability to steer its foreign policy effectively. A pivotal challenge involves securing new diplomatic recognitions, as Kosovo endeavors to enhance its relationship with the EU and progress toward membership.
In conclusion, Kosovo must cultivate secure diplomacy and strategic approaches to uphold its sovereign state status and fortify its international standing.
