Impact of the COVID19 pandemic in regards to socio-economic and political developments - these were the topics covered in the last two focus groups organized by PIPS with CSOs, media, government representatives, chamber representatives etc.
These focus groups are part of the project funded by the Balkan Trust for Democracy, a project of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and USAID.

The first focus group, "Socio-economic impact of the COVID19 pandemic in Kosovo", discussed the policies undertaken by the governments of Kosovo, the impact, effectiveness, and consequences of these policies in Kosovo society.

The second focus group "The Political Impact of COVID19 on CSOs and the Media", also discussed the effects of the pandemic measures on civil society organizations and media. Furthermore, the effects in different areas were mentioned, such as health, justice including respect for human rights.

PIPS will publish two policy studies on these impact areas with discussion findings from these focus groups as well.

Discussion and publication of the analysis on the second phase of rationalization of agencies and regulators in Kosovo

Discussion and publication of the analysis on the second phase of rationalization of agencies and regulators in Kosovo

25 November 2020

On November 25, PIPS published the analysis on the second phase of rationalization of agencies and regulators in Kosovo. Together with representatives from key institutions involved in this reform - the assembly, the ministry of public administration and the agencies we discussed the opportunities for the second phase.

As part of the political priorities agreed between Kosovo and the EU in 2016, for the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, the implementation of the first phase of this reform has not been completed, and consequently there are delays in the implementation of the second phase, which according to the action plan for the implementation of the whole reform, was intended to be completed by the end of this year.
