On July 7, the Pristina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS) published the policy analysis "Rationalization of Independent Agencies and Regulators in Kosovo". The analysis drafted after a period of several months of research provides an overview of the current situation of public administration reform, namely the implementation of the rationalization of independent, executive and regulatory agencies. At the same time it offers recommendations on how the first wave of rationalization could be organized.
On the occasion of this publication, a thematic discussion was held on the same topic with Mr. Mahir Yagcilar, Minister of Public Administration (MPA), Mrs. Shqipe Pantina, Member of the Commission for Public Administration and Vedat Sagonjeva, from the Office of the Prime Minister. Also present were representatives of agencies involved in the first wave of rationalization.
During the discussion, the three panelists Minister Yagcilar, MP Pantina and Government Representative Sagonjeva stressed the obvious need for full implementation of this reform, as an obligation of Kosovo derived from the ERA document, but also as an enterprise to improve service and the functioning of public administration in general. In this context, within the panelists there was agreement that Kosovo is already late in fulfilling this reform and that its full implementation is in the interest of the state and Kosovar citizens. During the open discussion, the agencies involved in the reform also had the opportunity to express their views on the reform.
This event was implemented with the support of the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS).
