The Prishtina Institute for Political Studies publishes the next report, in line with the MATRA project from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as co-implementer of the project with the FOL Movement.

This report discusses Kosovo's Institutional Preparedness for joining the European Union (EU), following the EU's new enlargement methodology. It provides context on Kosovo's relations with the EU, highlights achievements in implementing the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), and explores the requirements for accession negotiations under the new methodology. The analysis outlines the potential impact of progress in thematic areas during negotiations, obligations for Kosovo, positive outcomes, and potential negative consequences.

The report outlines tentative timelines for negotiations based on an optimistic scenario, concluding with findings and recommendations for Kosovo's government in advancing European integration.

Annual Review of Kosovo's Foreign Policy (2024-25)

The Annual Review of Kosovo's Foreign Policy (2024-25) reflects the main developments in bilateral relations, efforts for new diplomatic recognitions, advancement in Euro-Atlantic integration processes, and ongoing challenges in the dialogue with Serbia, during the reporting period 1 January 2024 to 15 March 2025.

The document provides a comprehensive overview of the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, including internal reforms, engagement with the diaspora and initiatives for economic and cultural diplomacy. Through the analysis of partnerships with countries in the region, Europe, the US and beyond, the report aims to provide a clear overview of Kosovo’s achievements and obstacles on the international stage during this period.

Instituti i Prishtinës për Studime Politike ka publikuar Raportin e Katërt Monitorues: Strategjia e Energjisë e Republikës së Kosovës 2022-2031, për periudhën 2025 (duke përfshirë edhe masat e paplotësuara të viteve paraprake). Raporti është bërë në kuadër të projektit ‘Rritja e llogaridhënies publike në procesin e integrimit evropian’, në bashkëpunim me Lëvizja FOL, i mbështëtur nga programi MATRA, i cili financohet nga Ambasada e Mbretërisë së Holandës në Kosovë.

THIRD MONITORING REPORT: ENERGY STRATEGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO 2022-2031 (Period 2024)

The Energy Strategy of the Republic of Kosovo was approved by the Assembly of Kosovo on March 8, 2023.

This Strategy aims to address current challenges and lay the foundations for a future energy sector that will provide security of supply, clean energy, energy efficiency and active citizen participation. The strategy includes the integration of the electricity system of Kosovo in the regional and pan-European market, with special emphasis on the use of renewable energy sources (RE) and close cooperation with the Republic of Albania.
The Republic of Kosovo is at a key point in the development of its energy sector, guided by the Kosovo Energy Strategy 2022-2031. This strategy serves as a framework towards a sustainable, efficient and reliable energy system that supports the country's economic growth and improves the well-being of its citizens. In this context, PIPS monitors the implementation of the Energy Strategy, and this report is the third in a row. The monitoring report serves as another tool, becoming a comprehensive overview of their progress towards the strategy for the year 2024 (including the year 2023). The report aims to assess the distinct and common challenges throughout the years of implementation of the strategy.
