“Strengthening Local Government Capacities and Increasing Citizens’ Participation”
Prishtina Institute for Political Studies (PIPS) will conduct the project “Strengthening local government capacities and increasing citizens’ participation”. This project aims to enhance quality of governance in sixteen municipalities of Kosovo through capacity building of civil servants as well as improve relations among citizens and local authorities by increasing participation through joint initiatives for the common good.
The project encompasses two main components, capacity development and joint initiatives.
• The project aims to contribute to creating a need-based holistic approach to strengthening the skills of civil servants in different fields of their work.
• The second component of the project aims to bring citizens closer to government, by proposing Joint Initiatives (JI) which requires mutual implementation of both citizens and municipal authorities.

To build capacities and skills of civil servants to improve the quality of local governance and integrate citizens in the decision-making process through CSO’s
To strengthen cooperation of local authorities with citizens and CSO’s for improving accountability and living environment for all.
The project targets civil servants from different departments and authority levels based on the training themes. This project includes 16 Municipalities (Klinë, Pejë, Istog, Vushtrri, Obiliq, Artanë, Ranillug, Partesh, Gjilan, Shtërpcë, Kllokot, Graçanicë, Mitrovice e Veriut, Leposaviq, Zubin Potok).
